A new $15 million mixed-use multi-family/retail development is to be built along James Brown Boulevard in the historic Laney Walker/Bethlehem neighborhood. The project was announced Thursday at the Ellis St. office of Sherman & Hemstreet Real Estate Co., who is partnering with Augusta Housing and Community Development in creating this development. Sherman & Hemstreet president Joe Edge said the new site, which will be named “The James,” will be a four-story project consisting of 113 apartments and retail space on the bottom floor.
